Manekineko Art Museum
Manekineko Art Museum, dedicated to the lucky beckoning cat, is a tiny establishment renovated from a private house dating to the Taisho period (1912–26). The first floor houses a manekineko shrine. The second floor displays some 3,000 figurines collected from across Japan, including a number of rare items from the Edo period (1603–1868). Staff members are happy to explain the significance of the raised paw. Complete with the adorable mascot cat, Koume-chan, the museum is a paradise for cat lovers.
