Komebamachi

Many port towns serve as a hub of trade. Komebacho was home to a rice market and served as a hub of Onomichi ports in the Edo period (1603-1868). Following the modernization of Japan, one district of the area dubbed Ginko-hama (bank beach) accommodated the 66th Japan National Bank, the Onomichi Bank, and the Sumitomo Bank.。
